Botox migraine
There are many products on the market today that can help to calm and maybe even prevent migraines, but the questions is, just how effective are they? It all depends on the patient, and how they handle the headache. Migraines are not at all fun to experience and some people are very lucky as they have never experienced one before, while others that are rather unlucky experience them regularly. In recent studies it has shown that botox is actually one of the most effective ways to deal with migraines. Although a botox is normally performed to rid and smooth out wrinkles, many patients have said that it also rid them of their severe headaches. Another project states that individuals who suffered from headaches who also had a botox done, had less migraines and they also didn’t have to use that much pain medication. The greatest advantage of having a botox is that it does not have many side effects. It is a very safe method to curing your headaches and it is also extremely effective, more effective than many other medications. So, now you are wondering how a botox works? Well it’s quite simple actually. The doctor will inject a liquid under your skin; normally approximately 10 to 25 injections will go to the head, shoulders and neck. Its not as painful as many people think it is, it’s simply a case of a small prick. It definitely beats having a migraine! The only side effect that botox has it that the skin might droop slightly where the needle was inserted, but this is only temporary and will soon go away. The side effects may vary according to the doctor and the patient. With another study, 48 patients had the botox done and they said that the occurrence of their migraines had decreased by more than 50%. Out of the patients that had a positive response, a total of 61% recorded that their headaches were far less frequent and nearly 30% of the patients said that the severity of their headaches had decreased. Even though this is an old method with botox, migraines are being calmed and the patients are consequently happy with their results. The year of 1992 was when it was discovered that the patients that had a botox done suffered from fewer migraines, but still many people do not know of this method, although it is rather old.
